Who says? Civilization has arrived.

লোহা লক্কড়ের দেশে,
সভ্যতা কি লোহায় আবদ্ধ শিকল।

সভ্যতা কি লাল শাড়ীর আঁচল?

মিথ্যা বাণীতে ভরপুর আয়োজনের বক্তৃতা,

না কাঁচের চুড়িতে রিনঝিন আওয়াজ?
বন্দীর আলাপনে আক্ষেপ;

কোথায় সভ্যতা!

বস্ত্রবিহীন অতীতে সভ্যতা গড়লো কিসে,
লোহার শিকলে

শাড়ীর আঁচলে....
হস্তবন্দী চুড়ির মাঝে,
পা আটকানো নুপুর সাজে,
সভ্যতা কি আঁটকে গেলো 

কথার ভাজে,
আমরা নাকি সভ্য জাতি।

চেয়ার, মাদুর যাই হোক সে,
বসতে যদি ইচ্ছে হয় ক্লান্ত মনে
সভ্যতা কি আঁটকে যায়।
প্লেট ভর্তি খাবার মাঝে 

দু'চারটে রেখে দিলেই
সভ্যতা জেগে উঠবে 

হিংসুকেরই মন মাঝে।

আমরা নাকি সভ্য জাতি,,
উদোর পিন্ডি বুদোর ঘাড়ে 

যখন চাপে তখন বুঝি-
সভ্যতারই কাণ্ডকীর্তি,
সময় পেলে আসবো ফিরে-

কথা দিলাম উজাড় করে;
জনসভার মঞ্চে উঠে 

মিথ্যা বুলি আউড়িয়ে সব
সভ্য জাতির উন্নয়নে 

কথা বেশি কাজের থেকে।

আমরাও তো সভ্য জাতি।
রাশি রাশি করি চুরি, 

ধরা খেলেই কেরামতি
ঠেলাঠেলি রাতে দিনে, 

এ লোক  ভাই আমার নই,
চেনাচেনা লাগলেও ঠেলে দিচ্ছি 

ভিন্নদলে,
নিজে ধোঁয়া তুলসীপাতা, 

গোসল দিলাম দুধপানিতে।

আঁটকে গেলো সভ্যতা 

সত্য-মিথ্যার মাঝামাঝি,
লোহার শিকল পায়ের বেদী, 

চুরি হলে মস্তধন
সভ্যতাকে গোসল দিলাম,

আঁটকে গেলো শাড়ির আঁচল।
